The Director

Florin Adrian Ciobanu, is the Director of Progressions ENSEMBLE, a ballet and contemporary ballet performance company. His highly respected professional career with the Romanian Opera Ballet, the Hungarian Opera Ballet and the Sarasota Ballet, (please click on link above for his full biography), gives him the experience needed to truly teach our students the technical skills and the artistry needed to be a dancer in today's world.

PPA Offers Options

There are several options for dancers that will offer a variety of choices. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome to perform with PPA - level 1 through level 5 - there is a place here for every dancer!

Progressions Ensemble

PPA Ensemble – Level IV and V students.  By invitation/audition. These dancers will work on technique and artistry while learning various pieces of choreography that they will perform at several events throughout the year.  These dancers will practice for 3 to 4.5 hours per week and will be required to to take three ballet and one jazz class each week.  These dancers will be groomed for excellence by their directors and will be expected to have a high level of dedication to dance.  Many of these dancers want a career in dance and the directors will help them discover ways to make this happen.  Senior Performance Ensemble will attend NYCDA (New York City Dance Alliance), a dance convention and YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) a competition.  Events are decided by the director.  Competition and Costume Fees are extra.

Several performances are scheduled thoughout the year and each Ensemble dancer will have several opportunities to perform. Placement of each dancer is entirely at the discretion of the Director.

Ensemble Performs

The 2009 - 2010 Season promises to be an exciting one for PPA. Dancers and their families should expect performances every six to eight weeks, both in-house and community based. Performances will be ballet and contemporary in style and will feature the performance company dancers.

Events will feature dancers from all levels at PPA. Beginners through advanced -- all dancers will perform side by side -- enjoying the feeling of performing.

Every dancer that takes three ballet classes and one jazz class each week may also participate in Ensemble.
